Abstract:

This paper reports the results of the questionnaire survey carried out among the participants in the IXth Conference of Russian Association of Phlebologists. The data obtained were compared with the results of the analogous questionnaire study conducted in 2008. It was shown that recent changes in surgical strategies in conjunction with the substantial increase in our knowledge of compression therapy dictate the necessity of modified approaches to the practical realization of some of its modalities. The value and importance of compression therapy as a basic method of conservative treatment are universally recognized.
