The present open comparative study yielded the statistically treated data suggesting the efficacy of the local negative pressure method (vacuum-assisted closure bandage) applied for the combined treatment of the patients presenting with venous trophic ulcers in the lower extremities of venous etiology. The method was shown to have an advantage over the traditional treatment with the use of standard aseptic dressings. Moreover, the vacuum-assisted therapy permits to reduce the duration of the treatment.
