The emergence of new technologies and tools has expanded the possibilities of using various approaches to atypical gastric resections and has led to the development of a whole group of interventions performed using hybrid laparo-endoscopic access. At the same time, each version of hybrid operations is characterized by different indications for use, the benefits obtained, as well as the different roles and tasks of the two operating teams — endoscopic and laparoscopic team. Currently, there are many different hybrid techniques described in the literature by different authors. All of them are found in the literature under different abbreviations but they have a common similarity — the application of combined access which is performed by two teams having different tasks at different steps of surgery. Moreover, each of the described techniques has its advantages and disadvantages. Given the large number of modifications of hybrid laparo-endoscopic gastric resections the aim of our literature review was to classify the various options of hybrid interventions for non-epithelial gastric tumors, as well as to describe various techniques with their technical aspects. While the studying the literature it becomes clear that the authors are in search of the advantages of certain types of operations in order to optimize the surgical technology of a personalized approach to the treatment of particular patient. A personalized choice of a specific technique is aimed to ensure precision, organ-preserving and maintaining the functionality of the upper gastrointestinal tract surgery.
