Abstract:

The article presents the literature review of the endoscopic esophagus stenting history, its invention and the technique evolution, modern stenting implementation for various strictures. The different types of esophageal stents are described; the definition of the indications for this surgical technology is made, the main early and long-term results are reported, as well as possible complications are considered. The main recommendations that are accepted for the implementation of endoscopic stenting of the esophagus in the strictures of various etiology, benign and malignant are given.
