Abstract:

The aim of the study — is to analyze the results of endoscopic ligation of the esophagus varicosities (EV) with continuing bleeding; to establish the feasibility of using endoscopic ligation with continuing bleeding; to analyze the incidence of postoperative complications in the early and late postoperative period. Material and methods. The results of endoscopic ligation of the esophagus varicosities, conducted in 23 patients with continued bleeding from esophagus varicosities, were studied. Results. The term of hospitalization of patients was 13.2±2.7 days. There were no intraoperative complications. In 1 (4.3%) patients there was a recurrence of bleeding on the 3rd day of the postoperative period. Hyperthermia was detected in 2 (8.7%) patients. Dysphagia and severe chest pain were noted in 8.7 and 13.0% of cases, respectively. The level of mortality was 4.7%. After 1 month after the operation, the average degree of esophageal varicosity was 1.14±0.26. Eradication of EV was achieved in 20 (87.0%) patients. In 2 (8.7%) patients, secondary gastric varicose was identified. Conclusion. Performing endoscopic ligation of the esophagus varicosities with continuing bleeding allows to achieve effective clinical and endoscopic hemostasis.
