Abstract:

Results analysis of treatment of 292 patients with closed chest injury is presented. Patients were divided into control group (n=145) in which treatment and diagnosis were performed without videothoracoscopy and major group (n=147) with the use of videothoracoscopic diagnosis and treatment. As a result of the study videothoracoscopy in patients with closed chest injury was proved to decrease the rates of postoperative complications from 23.4% to 14.3%, enables to reduce number of thoracotomies from 11.7% to 0.6%, lower patients hospital stay.
