A novel method of subserous gastric banding is developed and implemented. Method appears to be a modification, but compares favourably with absence of fixation sutures and that is the most important band migration. 198 such surgeries were performed since March 2010. In contrast to standard pars flaccida technique subserous band is passed through the anterior wall of gastroesophageal junction. Fixation sutures aren't stitched in this case. Hence, time of the surgery was significantly reduced from 40 min. in case of standard technique to 25 min. In addition rate of intraoperative and early postoperative complications were kept to a minimum. Postoperative pain syndrome reduced considerably, dysfunction of gastric passage in the early postoperative period was not revealed. Mean hospital stay shortened due to the lack of complications and patients well-being. Subserous gastric banding appears to be effective and enables to shrink risk of early and late postoperative complications. All conclusions and statements in the article are preliminary and need to be checked within long-term follow-up.
