К истокам хирургии невралгии тройничного нерва (стоя на плечах гигантов)

Резюме

Невралгия тройничного нерва — хорошо известное клиническое состояние, характеризующееся мучительной, приступообразной, пронзительной болью в лице, часто провоцируемой мимикой или приемом пищи. Врачи на протяжении последних двух тысяч лет предпринимали попытки описать эту сильную боль. Они характеризовали цефалгию, но их описания были расплывчатыми и не соответствовали тому, что мы сейчас называем невралгией тройничного нерва. Первое более точное описание невралгии тройничного нерва было дано в XVII веке. Однако патогенез долгое время был неясен, и лишь в начале XX века Уолтер Денди высказался о васкулярной компрессии корешка тройничного нерва как о возможной причине заболевания.
