This article reports the results of the clinical examination and subsequent treatment of 300 women at the age from 25 to 35 years presenting with chronic recurrent aphthous stomatitis and the concomitant urogenital infections. The patients were randomly allocated to three groups depending on the mode of treatment. Those comprising group 1 were given therapy with hydrochloride hydroxyzine, sodium aminodihydrophthalazinedione, and application of eplan. The local treatment of the patients, included in group 2 consisted of the application of adhesive solcoseryl dental paste. Group 3 was formed from the patients who received the traditional treatment in combination with the application of adhesive solcoseryl dental paste. The levels of secretory immunoglobulin A and the equilibrium coefficient of the local protective factors were determined. The results of the study indicate that the above treatment modalities resulted in the enhancement of the parameters of local immunity in the oral cavity fluid and the normalization of the equilibrium coefficient of the local protective factors in the patients presenting with recurrent aphthous stomatitis associated with the urogenital infection. The beneficial therapeutic effect suggesting the adequate level of local immunity in the oral cavity was especially well apparent within 3 months after the onset of the treatment. Therapy with hydrochloride hydroxyzine, sodium aminodihydrophthalazinedione, and application of eplan (in the patients of group 1) proved to be the most efficient tool for the combined treatment of the women presenting with chronic recurrent aphthous stomatitis and the concomitant urogenital infection.
