The objective of the present study was the development of the effective method for diagnostics of mineral density of the jaw tissue. Material and methods. We evaluated the parameters of the ultrasound speed in the bone tissue of alveolar portions of the jaws by means of the newly-proposed method of intraoral osteometry in 10 patients presenting with periodontal pathology and 12 ones with partial adentia. Results and conclusion. The results of the study give evidence of the high effectiveness of the new method. The procedural error did not exceed 1.5%. The advantages of the proposed technique include non-invasiveness and the absence of ionizing irradiation in combination with the high diagnostic potential. Taken together, these characteristics give reason to recommend the proposed method for an extensive application in stomatology.
