Abstract:

This paper reports an example of medical assistance provided to a 17-year old woman with low caries resistance who received prolonged orthodontic treatment. Median caries was treated by the sandwich technique with the use of the hybrid triple-cure glass-ionometric cement Vitrеmer (3M ESPE) and the naonohybrid composite material Filtek Z550 (3M ESPE) in combination with remineralizing therapy and intake of a vitamn-mineral complex. The sandwich technique for the management of the present case was chosen based on the high CFE index, poor oral hygiene, and high frequency of recurrent caries.
