Abstract:

The oral fluid plays an important role in the adaptation to removable dentures in the totally toothless patients. The local application of a 0.2% aqueous solution of acetylsalicylic acid during the adaptation period permits to decrease the viscosity and tensile strength of the saliva, improve its wetting properties, and reduce the time of adaptation to removable dentures.
