The wedge dehydration technique was employed to study specific morphological features of ductal saliva from 23 and 14 patients presenting with calculous and chronic sialadentitis respectively obtained in the acute phase of the disease and during remission. The active stone formation was documented in 14 of the 23 patients of the former group both in the acute phase and in remission. None of the patients with chronic sialadenitis exhibited the signs of lithogenesis which suggests the impairment of their general immune reactivity.
