Abstract:

Osteoid osteoma of the paranasal sinuses is a rare pathology and affects mainly the frontal sinuses. Its localization in the ethmoid sinus is practically not found. Tumor is not prone to rapid growth, in some cases it is asymptomatic, and therefore it can be an accidental find. Pronounced growth, paraorbital localization and the presence of obvious symptoms are indications for the choice of surgical treatment tactics. The purpose of this work was a comparative description of two cases of ethmoidal osteoid osteomas with different clinical manifestations and sizes. In both, surgical treatment with the choice of endoscopic approach is recommended and conducted. Good postoperative results allow us to recommend this approach for the treatment ethmoid osteoma not only of small and medium sizes, but also for giant osteomas with extensive distribution.
