The reconstruction of the extensive defect of the wing of the nose is a challenging task for a surgeon. The available methods for this purpose have a number of serious shortcomings. We have developed the procedure for the one-step reconstruction of the wing of the nose with the use of a duplicate movable flap harvested from the medial part of the cheek and an allogenic cartilaginous transplant. The article presents the detailed description of the surgical reconstruction technique based on the successful experience gained during two interventions with the good cosmetic and functional outcomes including the restoration of the natural alar shape and the alar-facial crease with the minimal damage to donor’s areas in the absence of the postoperative complications. It is concluded that the proposed method can be recommended as an alternative to the existing surgical reconstructive techniques for the correction of the defect of the wing of the nose.
