Abstract:

Aim — to present the design and protocol of the AEGIDA-Moscow study and the socio-demographic parameters of the surveyed sample. Materials and methods. In this study, we used data from a multicenter study. Twenty medical organizations of the Moscow state healthcare system and 4063 people(40.9% of men) aged 18 and over were randomly selected. Survey response was 78.1%. Results. In the gender and age sample over 24 years old, the proportion of women was significantly higher (p<0.05) compared to men. Almost 1/2 (45.8%) of people had higher education. The proportion of married men and women did not significantly differ (62.8% and 59.3%, respectively, p>0.05). In a cohort of men, single people were more common (men — 22.9%, women — 13.9%), while in a cohort of women — divorced ones (women — 12.6%, men — 7.2%) and widowed ones (women — 9.8%, men — 3.2%). In general, 70% of men and 57% of women worked, about 3% were unemployed, of which most could work. Conclusion. As a result of the AEGIDA-Moscow study, for the first time in the new socio-economic conditions, data on the epidemiological situation of cardiovascular diseases in the metropolis and their risk factors were obtained sing the STEPS technology proposed by WHO.
