The adaptive and compensatory capabilities of the exit team members of the Ufa emergency medical station were studied evaluating the body's nonspecific resistance according to the procedure developed by L.Kh. Garkavi. Many exit team members, particularly those who had a long length of employment, were ascertained to be in the state of acute stress, which gave rise to higher tension of the regulatory systems and to lower non-specific resistance (defective cell-mediated immunity). In this state, there was irrational expenditure of the body's functional and energy reserves with their further depletion, which aids in reducing the adaptive capacities of the body and accelerating its aging processes.
