Abstract:

We reported on monochorionic triamniotic triplet, conceived by IVF and ICSI, treated with endoscopic laser coagulation of the communicating placental vessels for severe feto-fetal transfusion syndrome (FFTS). FFTS was detected at 20 weeks with two donors (oligohydroamnios) and one reseptor (polyhydramnios) triplet. We discussed the possibility of embryos restriction after assisted reproductive technology. Manipulation of zona pellucid (ICSI) might increase the risk of monozygotic mutiple pregnancy. Only one fetus (reseptor) survived after laser coagulation of the communicating placental vessels. We made diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and T2 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of survival fetus after the death of monochorionic cotwins for the detection of acute ischemic cerebral lesions. Pregnancy was terminated by caesarean section at 31 weeks gestation to deliver girl (1200 g).
