Abstract:

THE PURPOSE

Assessment of the relevance of using the library stock hosted in the WhatsApp messenger.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

The library stock is formed in the Mail.ru cloud in the form of a folder containing many links to pdf files on anatomy. Then the «Anatomy group was created in the WhatsApp messenger. The link of the library stock is inserted into its description. By clicking on it, the student enters the library stock and can find the necessary information. The study is based on the analysis of the results of questionnaires of 25 IV year students of the medical and pediatric faculties students were registered in the «Anatomy» group and used the stock for 3 to 6 months.

RESULTS

The gender distribution was as follows: 76% were girls, the remaining 24% were boys. The age of the students ranged from 17 to 29 years old. When asked about the reason for joining the group, 76% of the students answered «in favor of helping them prepare for the exam». All students believe that anatomy is needed by doctors of all specialties; 84% of students chose the resource of the group «Anatomy» as the main source of information when preparing for a lesson or for an exam. The volume and quality of the information available is estimated at 10 points by 48% and by 9 points by 40% of the respondents. The necessity and importance of the provided resource is assessed by 10 points 60% and 9 points by 24% of the respondents. All students would recommend using the library stock of «Anatomy» group to prepare other students for a lesson or exam. The main arguments were the following: a lot of different and interesting literature — 92%, accessibility — 68%; ease of use — 64%; useful for preparing for an exam/lesson — 60%; convenient to use — 32%: develops interest to the subject — 16%.

CONCLUSION

The library stock of the «Anatomy» group is necessary to prepare for a lesson or for an exam. It is affordable, convenient and easy to use. The creation of a stock is necessary and important for obtaining information in sufficient volume and quality at any time and place.
