Introduction. The anatomical indicators of a healthy person’s face have currently gained great importance in the context of a desire to change some of its features, the palpebral fissure sizes in particular. Objective. To obtain systematized information on age and gender differences in palpebral fissure parameters. Subjects and methods. A total of 220 patients aged 7 to 84 years with Caucasian emmetropia were examined. The examination included determination of palpebral fissure length and width and medial and lateral canthi. Conclusion. According to age, the palpebral fissure length is observed to increase till elderly age and slightly decrease in senile age. The palpebral fissure width tends to increase from childhood to adulthood, whereas narrowed palpebral widths are noted in elderly and senile ages. The average sizes of the medial and lateral canthi rise till adulthood, reduce in elderly age, and slightly increase in senile age.
