Abstract:

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors develop in any part of the gastrointestinal tract. The most common site is the stomach (60%), small intestine (30%); they are relatively rarely detected in the duodenum (5%), rectum (3%), colon (2.1%) or esophagus (<1%). The paper describes a case of successful treatment in a patient with duodenal gastrointestinal stromal tumor complicated by continuing intestinal bleeding.
