Treatment for castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) is one of the most complex problems in urologic oncology. Fifty-two patients with CRPC treated with the long-acting somatostatin analogue octreodite depot have been followed up since 2010. The efficacy and tolerability of the drug at doses of 20 mg and 30 mg were compared. The high efficiency of treatment was seen in the 30-mg octreotide depot group; its positive response was observed in nearly 80% of the patients. The increased dose of the drug was not accompanied by additional undesirable side effects.
