Therapy failure in generalized castration-resistant prostate cancer is largely caused by the development of tumor resistance to drug exposure. Thirty patients have been treated with long-acting octreotide and dexamethasone at Moscow City Hospital Fifty-Seven since 2011. A positive response was assessed in patients who received octreotide therapy before and after first-line chemotherapy with docetaxel. Both groups showed positive changes. Up to 47% of the patients responded positively to combination treatment of octreotide and dexamethasone. Octreotide treatment caused no serious specific adverse toxic reactions.
