Abstract:

In recent years, an increase in the incidence of allergic dermatoses, including chronic eczema, has been registered. The relapsing course of eczema dictates the need to develop effective methods for the prolonged treatment of dermatosis with a minimum likelihood of developing adverse events. Aim: comparative analysis of the effectiveness of zinc-naphthalan paste and topical glucocorticosteroid in the «proactive» treatment of chronic eczema. Material and methods. As a result of screening selection, 60 patients with various forms of chronic eczema were included in the study. The severity of eczema was evaluated with registration of the EASI index, the prevalence of skin lesions (BSA), and the effectiveness of therapy using zinc-naphthalan paste — by the degree of decrease in these indicators in each patient. Adverse effects were registered on each follow-up. At the end of therapy, patients were tested. Results. High efficacy of zinc-naphthalan paste was noted for its use in the «proactive» treatment of chronic eczema.
