Currently, many university students, including medical students, are no more interested in the educational process. The indifferent attitude of future doctors towards education is directly related to the issues of the quality of medical services and public safety. It is believed that decrease in the interest of young people in acquiring knowledge directly depends on psychological characteristics of the new generation and outdated teaching methods. Therefore, teachers of modern medical educational institutions should rethink the tactics of the learning process. Objective — the objective of the study was to improve the interest of students in studying the dermatovenerology by introducing educational games into the teaching process. Material and methods. The study included 140 fourth-fifth-year students of the dental and medical departments. A number of educational methods were introduced to the teaching process: dermatological «puzzle», «monopoly», «lotto», dictation, and intended mistake method. Further, the students were surveyed and their progress was analyzed compared to that of the students who were taught according to the conventional method. Results. The scientific, historical, and psychological aspects of interactive and game-based forms of education were studies. There was significant increase in studies’ interest in 66.1% of cases, improvement in material perception and retention — in 41.4% of cases. Variants of innovative educational methods for students of the dental and medical faculty were provided and implemented in the educational process at the Department of Dermatovenerologic Diseases of the Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry n.a.
