Objective. The objective of this study was to assess the effectiveness of 5% Cyclopheron liniment in the complex treatment of females with chronic inflammatory diseases of the urogenital tract. Material and methods. We analysed the treatment of 104 female patients of reproductive age (27.7±0.3 years). All patients received basic therapy: doxycycline monohydrate 100 mg twice a day during 10 days, fluconazole 150 mg once a week during 3 weeks. In addition, the patients of the main group (n=54) was administered with 5% Cyclopheron liniment daily, starting from the 5th day of the menstrual cycle, 5 ml vaginally during 10 days. Comparison group patients (n=50) received only basic therapy. Thirty five apparently healthy females were examined to obtain reference values (control group). Results and conclusions. Inclusion of 5% Cyclopheron liniment in the treatment improved the effectiveness of therapy compared to the conventional treatment regimen, as evidenced by more rapid recovery of local anti-infective protection factors (reduced intensity of leukocytic and neutrophilic response, increased activity of lysozyme and lactoferrin), humoral factors (increased activity of IgA and sIgA and decreased activity of IgG), normalization of genital biotope microbiocenosis, and reduced recurrence of infectious and inflammatory process.
