The article provides a brief overview of the etiology, pathogenesis, classification, and modern methods for correcting various types of hyperpigmentation. The authors point out that the dermatological and cosmetic products containing active substances affecting various links of melanogenesis are currently the most acceptable ones with respect to their efficacy and usability. Iklen Melano-Expert is among such drugs. The results of clinical observations of administration of Iklen external preparations in patients with skin hyperpigmentation of different etiology, including melasma and lentigines, were reported. It was shown that the Iklen Melano-Expert cream is a high-efficiency medication for correcting circumscribed epidermal hyperpigmentation. This is evidenced by complete disappearance or significant reduction in pigmentation and improvement of skin texture. The drug demonstrated high safety and good patient compliance, which was confirmed by significant improvement in patients' quality of life, i.e. reduction in DLQI index by 83.9%.
