Abstract:

The effect of zinc hyaluronate on hair growth was investigated. Hair growth was estimated in the androgen-dependent regions during treatment in 24 patients following topical application of zinc hyaluronate gel and in 54 patients after its electroporation. Trichological examination involved investigations of morphometric parameters: hair density, the relative amount of hair in the anagen and telogen phases, the mean diameter of all hairs in the area under examination, and the relative quantity of velus and terminal (thin, moderate, thick) hairs. It is concluded that zinc hyaluronate injected by electroporation is able to cause anagen hair growth, to enhance hair density and thickness in patients with androgenetic alopecia. Administration of zinc hyaluronate by electroporation may be used in the combination treatment of patients with androgenetic alopecia.
