Vil Mamilovich Timerbulatov was born on June 1, 1952 in the village Isheevo Ishimbai district of Bashkir ASSR, in a family of peasants. In 1969, after graduating from Bashkir State Medical Institute with honors in 1975 and interning in the specialty "Medicine" in 1976-1979, he worked as a surgeon in the regional hospitals of Ishimbay and Blagoveshchensk Bashkir ASSR. In 1979-1981 he studied surgical residency at the Bashkir State Medical Institute, after the graduation he worked as a surgeon at the Ufa City Clinical Hospital № 8. Since 1982 he had been working at Bashkir State Medical Institute as an assistant, assistant professor of general and then at the department of surgical diseases ¹ 2. In 1983 he defended his Candidate thesis on the topic "Diagnosis and treatment of colonic diverticulosis and its complications" in Moscow Research Institute of Emergency Medicine named after N.N. Sklifosov under the guidance of Honored Scientist of Russian Federation, Head of Surgical Diseases Department, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences V.G. Sakhautdinov. He was a doctoral student at the Moscow N.V. Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Medicine. In 1985, Vil Mamilovich was awarded the title of associate professor. In 1988 he organized and headed first a course, and then the department of surgery at FUV (now the department of surgery and endoscopy of Postgraduate Training Institute of Bashkir State Medical University). In 1989, he defended his doctoral dissertation, "Optimization of Diagnostic Methods, Complex Treatment and Medical Rehabilitation of Patients with Acute Paraproctitis" at the 1st Sechenov Moscow Medical Institute. During the same years, fruitful scientific ties were established with the leading research institutions of the country and their leaders - academicians Viktor Sergeevich Savelyev, Vladimir Dmitrievich Fedorov, Gennady Ivanovich Vorobyov and many others. In 1991 he was awarded the title of professor.
