Abstract:

Aim. To determine anxious reactions effect on compliance of therapy in patients with hypertension. Material and methods. The study involved 100 patients with essential hypertension (33 men and 67 women, mean age 55.7±10.5 years) who were hospitalized in the cardiology clinic with previously confirmed hypertension at least one year before. All patients were divided into two groups. The first (main) group consisted of 67 (67%) patients with anxious reactions on hypertension who were diagnosed in clinical examinations by cardiologists and psychiatrists. Second (comparative) group included 33 (33%) patients without these disorders. Results. Anxious reactions increase compliance of patients with essential hypertension.
