It was analyzed the results of ergospirometry in different categories of patients with chronic heart failure FC I-III by NYHA. 200 patients were included into investigation. Serious complications of ergospirometry are not revealed. Women's absolute indications of peak oxygen consumption (VO2peak) and ventilator anaerobic threshold (VAP) were significantly lower than men's. But women's VO2peak and VAP expressed in % of normal was higher than that of men. Other men's and women's significant indications of ergospirometry did not differ. All physical tolerance indications, excluding VO2, of patients older than 65 years old were reduced in comparison with the indications of younger people. Also the patients older than 65 years old had more significant dysfunction of pulmonary ventilation (PetCO2, VE/VCО2) and more often they had prognostically adverse reactions of blood pressure on load. It was not revealed significant differences in peak VO2 and other important prognostic indications of ergospirometry among patients with preserved and reduced left ventricular ejection fraction. The value of respiratory exchange ratio (RER) achieved ≥1,0 only in 36.8% of patients. The patients who did not achieve target RER had lower values оf peak VO2, VAP and efficiency of pulmonary ventilation. It is concluded that the value of the ergospirometry results of women and elderly patients depends not only on the absolute indications of peak oxygen consumption, but also on correlation with standard parameters. The absence of the achieved target rate of RER is associated with the adverse prognostic factors such as a low physical tolerance and more severe dysfunction of ventilation.
