Results of palliative operations were analyzed in 66 patients with pulmonary artery atresia and interventricular septum defect. Patients from the group I (n=38) underwent systemic-pulmonary grafting, patients from the group II (n=28) - reconstruction of outflow tract from right ventricle without closure of interventricular septum defect. Initially differences in sizes of pulmonary artery were between 2 groups were not observed (p>0.05). Angiography carried out in recurrently hospitalized patients showed twofold increase of main pulmonary artery branches in group II (Nakata index) (p=0.003) and lower lobe pulmonary artery branches in 1.3 times in group I (index Redy) (p=0.02). Results of right ventricle outflow tract reconstruction demonstrates that this intervention is more effective as a primary palliative measure providing growth of hypoplastic main pulmonary artery branches and improvement of oxygen saturation.
