On 21-22 November 2019, the III Urals Congress of Surgeons Modern Technologies in General Surgical Practice was held in Ekaterinburg. It was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of Professor Iosif Davidovich Prudkov, who in 1968 was the first in the world practice to develop and apply first laparoscopically assisted cholecystostomy, and later — a wide range of interventions on the abdominal cavity organs by combining laparoscopy and open surgery. These were the first laparoscopic operations in history, as there were no others yet.
