Abstract:

Results of treatment of 309 injured with diaphragmatic lesions are analysed, 164 of which had closed injuries and 145 were with penetrating injuries. Endovideosurgical methods were applied in 203 (65.7%) patients: endovideosurgical methods alone in 107 (34.6%) and miniinvasive endovideoscopic procedures in combination with open surgeries in 96 (31.1%) patients. Endovideoscopic procedures for diaphragmatic ruptures after chest and abdominal injuries when indicated have undoubted advantages over conventional surgeries, including more than fivefold reduction of postoperative complications, twofold shortening of hospital stay.
