Abstract:

Malnutrition is an important risk factor for postoperative complications and mortality in oncology. A review of updated clinical guidelines of the European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN, 2017) and a similar US society (ASPEN, 2016) related to providing of nutrition support in the surgical oncology has been presented. The search was carried out using scientific databases elibrary.ru, PubMed and key words «surgery», «cancer», «nutrition», «guidelines». The focus on a broader implementation of enhanced recovery program after surgery (ERAS) has been done. Practical implementation of these guidelines will improve the quality of patients treatment operated for malignant tumors.
