After graduating from the Smolensk State Medical Institute in 1966, Vera Nikolayevna Prilepskaya worked for three years as an obstetrician-gynecologist in Uzlovaya, Tula Region. From 1969 to 1973 Vera Nikolayevna was an obstetrician-gynecologist at the Clara Tsetkin Maternity Hospital No. 11 in Moscow. From 1973 to 1975 she studied in the city clinical residency at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical Institute. From 1976 to 1987, V.N. Prilepskaya's labor activity was connected with the Moscow Regional Research Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology (MONIIAG, director - Prof. V.I. Kulakov), where she worked as a doctor, junior, senior researcher, head of department. It was in MONIIAG that Vera Nikolaevna, in addition to clinical activities, began to engage in scientific research, paying special attention to the problems of gynecologic endocrinology. After successful defense of her PhD thesis "Treatment of patients with dysfunctional uterine bleeding with norsteroids" (1981), she was appointed head of the scientific-polyclinic department of MONIIAG, the work of which she significantly improved from the position of not only a clinician, but also a scientist. In 1987, after successfully passing the competition Vera Nikolaevna was appointed head of the scientific-polyclinic department of "VNIC OZMiR of the USSR Ministry of Health" (now - FGBU "National Medical Research Center of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after Acad. V.I. Kulakov National Medical Research Center of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after Acad.
