Abstract:

The main point in the theory of doctors’ errors is its main contradiction, which consists in the simultaneous need to recognize, analyze errors and often the impossibility of doing this. The article presents three types of guilty feelings, options for acknowledging and denying errors, difficulties in recognizing errors, and difficulties in objective analysis of errors. Self-assessment and self-esteem are put forward as the main obstacles to recognizing a mistake. The importance of understanding the main contradiction in solving error problems is emphasized.
