Abstract:

At invitation of the rector of Saratov Imperial University Professor V.I. Razumovsky in 1911, the newly created Department of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy with exercises on corpses was headed by distinctive, with solid clinical experience, surgeon, MD, ordinary professor Sergei Ivanovich Spassokukotsky. The period of work in Saratov was characterized by the creative growth of S.I. Spasokukotsky as a scientist-thinker, innovator, brilliant surgeon, Teacher, who created a large national surgical school.
