Abstract:

The key elements of the payment system for hospital care around the world are diagnosis-related groups (DRGs). The article includes an analysis of the international experience of the use of DRG systems and proposals for reform of the payment model for hospital care in Russia. The following topics are considered: the association between payment model and defined guaranteed benefits in the health care system, technical aspects of DRG system, development of the nomenclature of medical services, creation of the add-on reimbursement mechanism for expensive technologies.
