ABSTRACT Hyaluronic acid is one of the main constituents of the skin. Being a part of the unique sterile concentrate with hyaluronic acid inside the germanium-organic chelate complex enlarges and enhances its effect, activates adaptation of skin cells to the lack of oxygen and thereby eliminates energy metabolism disturbance and prevents skin aging: within the fillers it provides additional stabilization, implant biodegradation period extension and indirect skin qualitative characteristics increase (at the injection point). Objective — the study was aimed at investigating morphological and immunohistochemical parameters of human skin after repeated exposure to the germanium-organic complex, assessing clinical effectiveness of fillers based on hyaluronic acid and germanium-organic complex using objective and instrumental examination methods. Material and methods. The effect of germanium-organic complex was studied in skin sections followed by PAS reaction and immunohistochemical studies. The course of intradermal injections of the drug was carried out using multipuncture technique. Clinical effectiveness of fillers based on hyaluronic acid and the germanium-organic complex was evaluated using instrumental examination (magnetic resonance imaging) and visual control. Results. The effect of the germanium-organic complex in the preparations under study leads to structural skin changes, including enhanced neoangiogenesis in the deep dermal layers and subcutaneous fat and synthesis of type I and III collagen. Injection of intradermal implants containing the germanium-organic complex eliminates wrinkles and skin defects and increases duration of the procedure up to 12 months; stimulates metabolism without causing perifocal pathological skin changes. The drug is completely biodegradable. Conclusion. The patented germanium-organic complex used as a component of injectable preparations facilitates activation of metabolic processes in the skin, normalization of hyaluronic acid content, recovery of functional activity of the skin, and elimination of aesthetic defects.
