Abstract:

RELEVANCE

Termination of pregnancy in adolescence has a significant negative impact on the immature body of a teenager and can lead to serious complications. The study of the problem of early pregnancy and induced abortions among adolescent girls is extremely important, since the reproductive health of children and adolescents determines the demographic potential of the country in the future.

OBJECTIVE

To provide an epidemiological characterization of artificial abortions in girls 17 years and younger in Kazan in 2010-2016.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

A retrospective analysis of artificial abortions of pregnancy in girls 17 years and younger for the period from 2010 to 2016 was carried out according to the data of medical records of the City Hospital №11 in Kazan. Statistical data processing was performed in Microsoft Office Excel 2010 and Jamavi.

RESULTS

The long-term dynamics of the incidence of artificial abortions in Kazan adolescents in 2010-2016 is characterized by a statistically significant downward trend (p<0.05). The incidence of teenage abortions has decreased by almost 2 times in 6 years. The incidence of teenage abortions is higher in the area with the lowest level of affluence of the population. There is low adherence to contraception, as well as repeated episodes of teenage pregnancy.

CONCLUSION

The study demonstrates the need to develop and implement programs for adolescent sexual education.
