The problem of endometriosis is gaining more and more medical and social importance because it is associated with severe clinical manifestations and recurrent course of the disease, which have a negative impact on various aspects of the quality of life and the working capacity of women. Intense pain for a long time can lead to the phenomenon of central sensitization, i.e. increased pain sensitivity in the centers of the brain. In this case, pain may persist even in the absence of pathological foci after radical surgery. In addition, the possibility of an increased risk of cardiovascular and autoimmune diseases in such patients is not excluded. Surgery remains the only way to eliminate foci of endometriosis, however, even after a radically performed operation, relapses are possible. Therefore, a comprehensive, in some cases interdisciplinary approach is demanded for the management of patients with endometriosis, especially severe.
