THE EXPRESSION OF APOPTOSIS CONTROLLING PROTEINS IN PATIENTS WITH PROSTATE CANCER

M.V. Ploskonos, A.A. Nikolaev

We studied 44 tissue samples of prostate cancer from men aged 61—86 years. Heterogeneity of apoptosis protein p53, bcl-2, bax and CD95 expression in different stages of cancer and a tendency to modify expression depending on the severity of dysplastic process was revealed. The results showed a high production of the apoptosis inhibitor bcl-2, intense expression of p53, decreased bax and CD95 expression in patients with prostate cancer. The positive correlation between intensity of p53 expression and degree of tumor malignancy was revealed.

Key words: prostate cancer, apoptosis, bcl-2, bax, p53, CD95 (page 14—17).

АNTI-MÜLLERIAN HORMONE AS A DIAGNOSTIC MARKER OF POLYCYSTIC OVARY SYNDROME

E.E. Grodnitskaya, Yu.V. Scherbatyuk, I.A. Bendusov, M.A. Kurtser, G.A. Melnichenko

Serum Аnti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) correlated with the severity of symptoms. It is an accurate marker of the antral follicle number and offers a good diagnostic potency. A cross-sectional study was performed in 62 women diagnosed with PCOS according to the ESHRE/ASRM criteria and in 67 healthy control subjects matched by age and body mass index. Serum AMH levels were significantly higher in women with PCOS. ROC curve analysis showed a cutoff point for AMH of 4.96 ng/mL (sensitivity 72.1%, specificity 90.2%) for diagnosis of PCOS. AMH has a high specificity and sensitivity as a diagnostic marker for PCOS.

Key words: аnti-Müllerian hormone, diagnostic marker, polycystic ovary syndrome (page 27—30).

LIPID METABOLISM IN PATIENTS WITH DIFFERENT PHENOTYPES OF POLYCYSTIC OVARY SYNDROME

E.V. Sheremetyeva, E.N. Andreeva, I.I. Dedov

Polycystic ovary syndrome is considered to be one of the constituent parts of a complex metabolic syndrome which predisposes to the long-term complications, such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia and coronary heart disease. Patients with PCOS need a multidisciplinary approach in the treatment and management.

Key words: polycystic ovary syndrome, metabolic syndrome, dyslipidemia, metformin (page 38—42).

SYSTEM AND LOCAL CHANGES OF L-SELECTIN AND LIGAND MEKA-79 IN PATIENTS WITH TUBAL INFERTILITY IN IVF/ICSI PROGRAMS

V.A. Burlev, N.A. Ilyasova, A.S. Onishchenko, L.N. Kuzmichev

The study showed that the implantation rate and clinical pregnancy rate in IVF/ICSI programs are higher in patients with low L-selectin level in blood serum and endometrium (superficial epithelium, glands and stroma) and with high MECA-79 expression in endometrium (luminal epithelium and glands). High L-selectin level in blood serum and endometrium (luminal epithelium and glands) and low MECA-79 expression in luminal epithelium and glands were observed in patients with IVF failure.

Key words: L-selectin, MECA-79, endometrium, IVF (page 43—50).

ASSISTING HIV-CONCORDANT COUPLES IN ART PROGRAMS

Yu.A. Solovieva, A.V. Korneev, V.V. Danilov

The number of HIV-concordant couples seeking the counseling on reproductive matters is increasing each year. This article describes the first experience of assisted reproductive technologies in HIV-concordant couples.

Key words: concordant couples, HIV, IVF, artificial insemination (page 57—58).

THE COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF CHROMOSOMAL ANOMALIES IN HUMAN PREIMPLANTATION EMBRYOS AND SPONTANEOUS ABORTUS

D.A. Mikitenko, L.Ya. Pilip, L.A. Spinenko, E.V. Lavrova, V.D. Zukin

The frequency and structure of chromosomal abnormalities in embryos of patients with multiple implantation failures in assisted reproduction programs were compared to those detected in the products of conception in first trimester miscarriages. Chromosomal abnormalities were detected in 43.2% of miscarriage products and in 51.01% of human blastocysts. Our results highlight the importance of preimplantation aneuploidy screening of all chromosomes in embryos of patients with multiple implantation failures in assisted reproduction cycles.

Key words: chromosomal abnormalities, preimplantation genetic diagnosis, comparative genomic hybridization (page 59—64).

THE COMPARATIVE ASSESSMENT OF EFFICACY OF IDIOPATHIC INFERTILITY THERAPY

A.A. Proskurin, E.A. Golubkin, P.A. Polivin, E.E. Kazaryan

The aim of this comparative study was to test the dietary supplement Androdoz for idiopathic pathospermia treatment compared with complex therapy with L-carnitine, zinc and vitamin A and E. The patients of group 1 (n=71) were treated with Androdoz, while the patients of group 2 (n=59) used L-carnitin, zinc, vitamin А and vitamin Е. The study showed a statistically significant increase of active sperm proportion and normal sperm concentration in Androdoz group. The study has also demonstrated good tolerance and safety of the drug.

PLACENTAL EXPRESSION OF CHROMATIN PROTEINS AND THEIR POST-TRANSLATIONAL MODIFICATIONS IN COMPLICATED PREGNANCY

T.N. Pogorelova, V.O. Gunko, V.A. Linde

The contents and fractional composition of histones and non-histone proteins of chromatin placenta during physiological pregnancy and placental insufficiency were examined. The most labile fractions of histones were revealed. Decreasing of the cyclonucleotide-dependent phosphorylation activity, especially under the action of cAMP-dependent protein kinases is revealed for both types of placental nuclear proteins in complicated pregnancy. Modification of placental DNA-binding activity of a nuclear factor NF-κB is established. The role of the revealed damages of nuclear structures metabolism in placental insufficiency is discussed.

Key words: placenta, chromatin, transcription factor NF-κB, placental insufficiency (page 82—85).
