Asthma (A) is a common and socially significant disease characterized by course variability and heterogenic phenotypes. Some symptoms in patients with asthma overlap those of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and some patients with A have OSA. OSA is especially common in patients with asthma and obesity. Moreover, in recent decades, it has been shown that the population prevalence of OSA is high and continues to grow steadily. The review analyzed data from large studies evaluating the prevalence of OSA in patients with A and their possible pathogenetic relationships; aspects of OSA treatment were also reviewed in patients with A.
