The problem of obesity is adding relevance. Obesity has become a non-contagious epidemic, affecting an increasing number of people every year, regardless of age, gender, and place of residence. It is associated with a growing risk of life-threatening complications leading to disability. Of special interest is the growing frequency of obesity among young people, which increases the lifelong risk of chronic diseases. Research into this problem could help find the most optimal methods of controlling obesity to reduce the resources spent to treat its complications. This review explores the impact of obesity on various aspects of human life. The literature search included the resources published in 2028-2013 and indexed in PubMed and eLibrary.
