A number of studies have shown that health system is not ready to help women cope with menopause symptoms, and that the menopausal disorders’ prevention and correction effectiveness is low, despite their proven correlation with the preservation of women life quality during perimenopause and postmenopause.
OBJECTIVE
To study quality of women with menopause management on the example of a women’s health clinic in Moscow.
MATERIAL AND METHODS
A retrospective analysis of 401 medical records of patients aged 45—55 years, who were observed in women’s health clinic, was carried out based on 11 variables: age, visits to women’s health clinic frequency after the age of 45, year of last visit, presence of visits in 2022—2023 yrs., diagnosis at the last admission in 2022—2023 yrs., presence of N95.1 «Menopause and climacteric condition in woman» diagnosis, age of this diagnosis establishment, presence of complaints of menopause symptoms and type of complaints, presence of recommendations on menopausal disorders’ prevention and correction and type of recommendations. Statistical data processing was carried out in automated SPSS program.
RESULTS
Complaints of menopause symptoms are registered in 237 (59.1%) medical records, N95.1 «Menopause and climacteric condition in woman» diagnosis — in 81 (20.2%), recommendations on menopausal disorders’ prevention and correction — in 33 (8.2%). The median of age of menopause diagnosis is 45.0 years (45; 49), visits to women’s health clinic frequency after the age of 45 is 0.33 (0.00; 0.70). Visits frequency after the age of 45 was higher among patients with «Menopause and climacteric condition in woman» established diagnosis relative to those who have not been diagnosed with it (p<0.001), as well as among patients received recommendations on menopausal disorders’ prevention and correction relative to those who did not (p=0.010).
CONCLUSION
«Menopause and climacteric condition in woman» diagnosis is not made almost in 60% of 45—55 years old patients, who have complaints of menopause symptoms. The presence of «Menopause and climacteric condition in woman» diagnosis and recommendations on menopausal disorders’ prevention and correction influences on visits to women’s health clinic frequency by 45—55 years old women.
