Abstract Prevalence of magnesium deficiency, its role in rhythm disturbances, risks associated with magnesium deficiency and advisability of magnesium orotate intake for heart rhythm disturbances are reviewed in the article. Metaanalyzes data on clinical effectiveness of magnesium orotate for arrhythmias and other manifestations of hypomagnesemia are presented. Metabolic feasibility of orotic magnesium salt due to cardioprotective effect is shown. Case report of effective correction of electrolyte disturbances with the Magnerot in a patient with hypomagnesemia is given.
