Computer bronchophonography of the respiratory cycle
Computer bronchophonography of the respiratory cycle

Geppe N.A., Malysheva V.S. M.

The monograph describes the mechanisms of respiratory noises and rales in the respiratory system, methods of their study and diagnostic significance. To objectivize sound phenomena, new technologies are being developed that add visualization of sounds and their objectivization with the help of special computer programs to the auscultural picture. In Russia, the method of computer bronchophonography (CBFG) has been developed, based on the registration of sound phenomena arising from breathing, with subsequent analysis and mathematical processing of frequency and temporal characteristics of the spectrum of these noises. Long-term researches and observations of children of different ages, starting from the first month of life, showed the effectiveness of CBFH in patients with various pathologies, primarily with obstructive disorders in the respiratory system.

The monograph discusses the theoretical foundations of the study of acoustic parameters of breathing and presents a variety of works by the authors, giving an idea of the use of CBFG method.

Materials can be useful for pediatricians, therapists, pulmonologists, general practitioners, as well as students and residents of medical universities.
